Introduction to Short-term Insurance
If the day arrives that you experience an unexpected loss or damage to your belongings, it is important to have correctly defined short-term insurance that addresses your loss as you would expect! It will be a very big shock for an insured if he/she was under the impression that he/she had coverage for a claim event and then suddenly realises that the gimmicks advertised when buying the product don’t pay claims!

Items that can be covered by personal short-term insurance:

Car insurance

Choose between different levels of cover for your car – comprehensive cover, limited cover or liability to other parties cover.

Building insurance

Building insurance is to cover any fixed structures you own or rent – including your home, outbuildings, fittings and fixtures.

Contents insurance

This section covers all the personal possessions inside your home and outbuildings. These items must belong to your or to any members of your household who live with you.

All-risk insurance

This section covers personal possessions that you usually take out of your home and which belong to you or to any member of your household who live with you.

Bicycle insurance

Whether you cycle competitively or for pleasure, we will find bicycle insurance that offers protection for your bicycle.

Watercraft insurance

Watersports are a fun way to spend your leisure time, but they can become an expensive hobby. With watercraft insurance you are covered against theft or damage. You can cover any motorboat, ski boat, wet bike, fittings and accessories.

Vehicle cover

Buildings cover

This section covers your main building and outbuildings. Short-term Insurance also cover all permanent fixtures, fittings and improvements, such as driveways, walls, patios, swimming pools, gate motors, tennis courts and underground pipes. Dams and dam walls, loose gravel paths and coverings as well as pool cleaning equipment are excluded.

Contents cover

This section covers the furniture and other movable possessions inside your building.

All Risk cover

This section covers possessions that you or your colleagues or employees usually take away from his place of business. These items could have worldwide cover.

Business interruption cover

This section covers the financial loss you can suffer following an interruption to your business.

Electronic equipment cover

This section covers your computers, licensed software, and other electronic business equipment.

Employer’s liability

This section covers damages that you are liable to pay to an employee following an incident which occurred in the course of or in connection with this person’s employment with the business.

Money cover

This section covers your cash, cheques, postal and money orders, postage and revenue stamps, credit cards vouchers, and other negotiable instruments.

Public liability

This section covers damages that you are liable to pay following an incident that occurred in the course of or in connection with the business.

Stock cover

This section covers your raw materials, goods being manufactured or traded and other goods for which you are responsible as part of your stated business activity.

Stock in transit cover

This section covers your stock while it is being transported.

Employee dishonesty

This section covers losses following acts of fraud or theft by your employees.
